Totally forgot that we even took this trip! But was going through some old photos and found these pics that Ben and I took! Of course, some of the video from this trip ended up in the Matrax, so not sure how I missed posting these all these years!

In looking at the pictures, we loaded up the Grand Prix (Steve's dad's car) because no one wanted to sit in the back of the Ranger (Angry Mcdonald's hotcakes pulling out of Barstow anyone?). We also put some major dents in the roof of the Prix by really cranking down on the towers as they started to get get loose during the trip (sorry Mr. Myers!)! This trip was the exploration of the southern AZ, down to Tucson. The first ride was a really bizarre trail called Fantasy Island that had several . . .I guess you can call them tributes (or works of art) dedicated to cycling. It was a little surreal, bizarre, and junkie . . .a bit like Tucson, if you will :) (sorry Tucsonites!). The next day was a fun trail called broken arrow. I don't remember too much about it, but it looked pretty fun from the pics.

I think those were the crown jewels of the area, and Steve and I had such a good experience the previous year in Sedona that we cruised back up that direction to ride Huckaby and Secret trails. There was considerably more water in the creek crossings this time around. But we found some good technical sections to play around on. Was going great till I munched it on rock that was in the landing path of a nice launch off a rock (no photos or vids of that, but I remember it being pretty comical) :)
